A Beautiful Spring at Chestnut Oak Lodge

It's a super busy time of year, so when we had a chance to go to Chestnut Oak Lodge for a weekend, we hightailed it out to the Shenandoah Valley.  It's amazing how wonderful just a day or two away can be for the whole family....including our dog, who loves to spend time at the cabin!

 

 

 

The Ski Slopes are Open at Bryce!

Because of the cold weather we've been having, the ski slopes are open at Bryce Resort earlier than ever!

Beautiful in Fall!

We enjoyed a great weekend at the cabin recently.  It was wonderful to walk around the lake and enjoy the fall colors and then head to Paugh's Orchard and pick up some apples to bring home..... It doesn't get much better!

 

Happy Pets at Chestnut Oak Lodge!

Our dog really enjoys sitting on the decks at Chestnut Oak Lodge....hoping to spot one of the deer that sometimes stop by in the early morning or evening.  

Even in a Summer Rain, Chestnut Oak Lodge is Beautiful!

A Visit to Luray Caverns

 

We've been told time and time again to visit Luray Caverns....and finally, we got there!  Less than an hour away from the cabin, we have driven by the Caverns many times, but we usually head to one of our favorite restaurants or the entrance to the Shenandoah National Park.  As a special treat during Spring Break, while we were visiting the cabin, we drove out to Luray specifically to tour the Caverns.

The Caverns were spectacular.

 

 

We were very glad to have finally seen Luray Caverns.  If you go, we also really enjoyed the Luray Valley Museum, which was included in the tickets for the Caverns. 

An Amazing Snow!

We got the chance to spend a few days at the cabin this past week and were blessed by a beautiful snow fall!
